Getting to the clinic from Tora
Tora has two stations on Metro Line 1. From Tora El-Balad, ride two stops north (via Sakanat El-Maadi) to Maadi; from Tora El-Asmant, it is four stops (via Kozzika, Tora El-Balad and Sakanat El-Maadi). Including walking and a short taxi from Maadi station, the trip is approximately 15 to 30 minutes off-peak depending on where in Tora you start.
By car or ride-hailing app, Corniche El Nil runs north into Maadi and typically takes about 10 to 20 minutes off-peak. Truck traffic and the evening rush can slow the Corniche, and peak traffic varies. We send exact directions and a map pin on WhatsApp after you book, as the clinic's street address is not yet published.
What Tora residents most often ask about
A large share of our Tora patients are older adults dealing with loose or uncomfortable dentures, or with a few remaining teeth that are starting to fail. Over the years the gums and bone under a denture shrink, so even a well-made denture eventually needs relining or replacing.
A new denture made with careful impressions and bite records can make a substantial difference to comfort and chewing. Where a lower denture will not stay down, two dental implants can be placed to hold it with clips. This implant-retained overdenture is the subject of Prof. Nouran's published research. It is not suitable for everyone: poorly controlled diabetes, certain bone medications, heavy smoking or limited bone may make a conventional denture the safer choice. See what to do about a loose denture.
Why the prosthodontic angle matters
A denture is not just a set of teeth; its fit, bite and the way it rests on the gums decide whether it is comfortable or ends up in a drawer. Prosthodontics is the specialty that deals with exactly these details.
Keeping the teeth you have
For younger family members, a regular checkup and cleaning is the simplest way to avoid needing dentures later.
A practical tip for Tora patients
The Metro is often faster than the Corniche at rush hour. If you have a denture, wear it to your appointment unless it is causing pain, as it helps us see how it fits and where it presses.

Common questions
Which Tora Metro station is closer to the clinic, El-Balad or El-Asmant?
Tora El-Balad is closer: two stops from Maadi station, compared with four from Tora El-Asmant. Choose whichever is nearer your home. From Maadi station the clinic is a short taxi ride or walk, and we send a map pin on WhatsApp after booking.
My lower denture moves when I eat. Is that normal?
Lower dentures are often less stable than upper ones because there is less gum to grip and the tongue moves them. Some movement is common, but sores or difficulty eating suggest the denture needs relining, adjusting or replacing. In suitable cases, two implants can hold a lower denture much more securely.
How long does it take to make a new denture?
A conventional denture usually takes several visits over a few weeks: impressions, bite records, a try-in of the teeth in wax, then fitting. Follow-up adjustments are normal in the first weeks. We explain the exact sequence at your first visit so you can plan trips from Tora.
