Why a second opinion matters for large dental plans
A full-arch implant treatment or a set of twenty veneers is a major financial and biological decision. Teeth prepared for veneers cannot be un-prepared, and implants removed from a poorly planned position leave bone defects. It is reasonable, and common, to check a large plan with another specialist before starting.
Prof. Nouran Abdel Nabi is a Professor of Prosthodontics and Dental Implants at Cairo University with published work on implant-retained overdentures. In a second-opinion visit she reviews your existing X-rays or CBCT scan, examines your bite and gums, and explains whether the proposed plan is reasonable, whether a simpler alternative exists, and what the risks are either way. Sometimes the original plan is sound, and we will tell you that too.
Full-arch, crowns or veneers: matching the treatment to the problem
For a failing dentition, options range from a removable overdenture on two implants to a fixed bridge on four to six implants. Our guide to implants versus bridges versus dentures helps frame the choice. For damaged or discoloured teeth, the question is usually whether crowns, veneers or more conservative bonding and whitening fit; our veneers and smile design page outlines when veneers are not advised, for example with heavy grinding or untreated gum disease.
Zirconia crowns suit high-load back teeth; E.max is often chosen for front teeth where translucency matters. Neither material is right in every mouth.
The drive from Sheikh Zayed
Most patients take the 26th of July Corridor east toward Cairo, join the Ring Road and head south, crossing the Nile at El Moneeb into the Maadi side. Off-peak, the journey is typically around 50–75 minutes depending on your starting point in Zayed. Morning inbound and evening outbound traffic on the Corridor can add significantly, so late-morning appointments tend to suit the return trip.
There is no metro connection from Sheikh Zayed. Once you book, we send directions and a map pin on WhatsApp.
Making a long drive count
Because the distance is real, we organise visits for Zayed patients to do as much as is clinically sensible per trip. A second-opinion or planning visit can include examination, imaging review and a full discussion of options. If you go ahead, records, try-ins and adjustments are grouped where safe. Healing periods for implants still take the time they take.
What you can keep closer to home
Routine checkups, cleanings and small fillings are usually easier with a dentist near you in Zayed. The trip to Maadi is about planning and delivering the larger prosthodontic work.

Common questions
Can I send my X-rays from Sheikh Zayed before deciding to make the trip?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp with your existing panoramic X-ray, CBCT scan or treatment plan. A reliable opinion still needs an in-person examination, but an early look can tell you whether the visit is likely to be worthwhile for your situation.
How long is the drive from Sheikh Zayed to Maadi?
Off-peak, usually about 50–75 minutes via the 26th of July Corridor and the Ring Road, crossing the Nile at El Moneeb. Rush-hour traffic on the Corridor can add a lot, so we suggest late-morning slots. We send a map pin on WhatsApp after booking.
Will you tell me if the plan I got in Zayed is fine?
Yes. A second opinion is not an attempt to take over your treatment. If the plan you received is reasonable, we will say so clearly. If there are simpler or lower-risk alternatives, we will explain them and the trade-offs so you can decide.
