How to reach us from New Maadi

New Maadi (Maadi El Gedida) lies east of old Maadi, between Lasilky Street and the Autostrad. The usual route is along Lasilky Street or across the Autostrad into Maadi, which typically takes about 10 to 20 minutes off-peak by car or ride-hailing app. At rush hour the Autostrad crossings and Lasilky Street can be slow, and peak traffic varies a lot by day.

There is no Metro station in New Maadi itself; if you combine public transport, Maadi station on Line 1 is the closest. We send precise directions and a map pin on WhatsApp after you book, as the clinic's street address is not yet published.

Common reasons New Maadi residents visit

A lot of our New Maadi patients are parents in their thirties and forties juggling work and school schedules. Toothache that has been "managed" with painkillers for weeks is a frequent story, and it often means a tooth needs root canal treatment or, if it cannot be saved, an extraction.

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed pulp, cleans the canals and seals them. With modern local anaesthesia most patients describe it as similar to having a filling. It is not suitable when a tooth is badly fractured below the gum or has too little structure left; then an extraction followed by a bridge or implant may be the better plan. Protecting the tooth after a root canal

Back teeth that have had a root canal are more brittle and often benefit from a crown. This is where a prosthodontic focus helps: Prof. Nouran plans crowns and bridges so they protect the tooth and fit the bite. Not every root-treated tooth needs a crown; front teeth with good structure may only need a filling.

Planning around your week

Lasilky Street is usually calmer in the late morning and early afternoon than after 5 pm. If you can only come after work, book ahead and allow extra travel time. For children, a short checkup during school holidays avoids missed classes, and booking the whole family together saves repeat trips.

Common questions

I have toothache at night in New Maadi. Should I wait for a regular appointment?

Night pain, swelling or pain that wakes you usually means inflammation or infection and should be seen soon. Message us on WhatsApp with a description and, if possible, a photo so we can advise on urgency. If you have facial swelling spreading to the eye or neck, or difficulty swallowing, go to a hospital emergency department.

How many visits does a root canal take?

Many root canals are completed in one or two visits, depending on the tooth, the number of canals and whether there is active infection. A crown, if needed, adds further visits. We explain the expected number of appointments at your examination so you can plan around work and school pickups from New Maadi.

Is it worth saving a tooth with a root canal instead of pulling it?

Often yes, because your own tooth keeps the bone and neighbouring teeth stable. But if the tooth is cracked deeply or has very little structure left, saving it may not be predictable. We compare root canal plus crown against extraction with an implant or bridge, including the risks of each, before you decide.
