From the plateau to our clinic
Mokattam has no Metro line, so most patients come by car or ride-hailing app. The usual route descends from the plateau via the Mokattam–Maadi road and joins the Autostrad heading south into Maadi. Off-peak, the trip is approximately 20 to 30 minutes from central Mokattam, depending on where you live on the plateau.
The descent and the Autostrad junctions can be slow in rush hour, and peak traffic varies considerably. Because the clinic's street address is not yet published, we send step-by-step directions and a map pin on WhatsApp after you book, which also helps if you use a ride-hailing app.
Why Mokattam patients come to a prosthodontic-focused clinic
Many of our Mokattam patients are in their forties and fifties. They often have one or two missing back teeth, older crowns that look opaque or dark at the gum line, or front teeth that are worn or chipped. They want a plan that looks natural and lasts, not the quickest or cheapest fix.
Dental implants, planned from the final tooth
A dental implant replaces a missing tooth without cutting down the neighbours for a bridge. Good results depend as much on the crown on top as on the surgery: its shape, how it meets the opposite teeth and whether you can clean around it. That is the prosthodontist's focus, and Prof. Nouran's published research on implant-supported prostheses informs how she plans. Implants are not suitable for everyone: smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, gum disease and certain medications increase risk, and some patients need bone grafting first. A bridge or partial denture remain alternatives. Read am I a candidate for dental implants?
Crowns and natural-looking smile design
Replacing old crowns with metal-free zirconia or E.max crowns can make a smile look lighter and more natural. For worn or chipped front teeth, conservative smile design may use bonding, a few veneers or crowns depending on how much tooth is left. Veneers need some enamel removal and can chip, and heavy grinders may need a night guard. We show you a preview of the proposed shape before committing.
A practical tip for Mokattam residents
Late-morning slots usually avoid both the morning descent and the evening climb back up the plateau. If you are considering implants, bring any recent dental X-rays and a list of medications to your consultation.

Common questions
How long does it take to drive from Mokattam to the clinic?
Off-peak, most patients arrive in approximately 20 to 30 minutes via the Mokattam–Maadi road and the Autostrad. At rush hour the descent from the plateau and the Autostrad junctions can add significant time, so allow a buffer. We send a WhatsApp map pin so you or your driver can go straight to the clinic.
Can I see what my new smile will look like before treatment?
Yes. For smile design we usually start with photos and models, and often a temporary mock-up in your mouth so you can judge the shape and length. This helps you decide before any tooth is prepared. The final result also depends on your gums and bite, which we assess first.
Is one missing back tooth worth replacing?
Often, yes. Over time neighbouring teeth can tilt into the gap and the opposite tooth can overgrow, affecting the bite and making cleaning harder. An implant, a bridge or sometimes simply monitoring are options. We explain the pros and cons of each for your specific situation.
