A plan-first approach to veneers and crowns
Many Mohandessin patients who contact us have already seen offers for a full set of veneers in a single week. Some of those results look good; others need redoing within a few years because healthy enamel was removed unnecessarily or the bite was not considered. Smile design is ultimately a prosthodontic question: how the teeth meet, how much tooth structure must be preserved, and how the restorations will age.
At our clinic in Maadi, Prof. Nouran Abdel Nabi starts with the bite, gum health and existing restorations before discussing shade or shape. Sometimes the honest answer is whitening plus a few bonded corrections rather than ten or twenty veneers. You can read our view on whether veneers and the Hollywood smile are safe before deciding.
Crowns, bridges and implants: choosing the material
For back teeth that take heavy biting force, zirconia is often chosen for strength; for front teeth where translucency matters, E.max is a common option. Neither is right for every case, and grinding habits, gum line and the colour of neighbouring teeth all influence the choice. Our crowns and bridges page explains the trade-offs in more detail.
Where a tooth is missing, we compare an implant, a bridge and a removable option side by side, including the cost of each over time, not just on day one.
The trip from Mohandessin
Driving
Most patients take the 6th of October Bridge toward Downtown and then follow the Corniche El Nil south to Maadi, or head down through Dokki and Giza along the west-bank Corniche before crossing. Off-peak, expect roughly 30–45 minutes. Weekday evenings around Sudan Street and the bridge ramps can add a lot, so plan accordingly.
Metro
El Bohooth and Dokki stations on Line 2 both serve Mohandessin. Ride to Sadat, change to Line 1 and continue south to Maadi.
We send the exact directions and a map pin on WhatsApp after booking.
When a closer clinic makes more sense
For a checkup, cleaning, small filling or an urgent toothache late at night, a dentist near home in Mohandessin is usually more practical. The trip to Maadi is better suited to treatment you will live with for years, such as multiple crowns, a smile design plan, or implants. For those, we try to combine the consultation, photographs and preliminary planning into as few visits as possible, so the total number of journeys stays manageable.
Veneers are not suitable for people with untreated gum disease, active decay or severe grinding without a night guard, and they always involve some irreversible tooth preparation. We will discuss these limits before any work begins.

Common questions
Which metro station is closest for Mohandessin patients coming to Maadi?
It depends on which part of Mohandessin you live in. El Bohooth station on Line 2 suits the western side near Mostafa Mahmoud and Sudan Street, while Dokki station is closer to the southern edge. From either, ride to Sadat, switch to Line 1 and head south to Maadi.
Can I get veneers designed in one visit from Mohandessin?
A responsible smile design normally needs at least an examination visit and a planning or trial stage before final veneers are fitted, plus lab time. We group the steps to reduce trips, but we do not compress the process in ways that risk the result or your natural enamel.
Do you accept patients who already started treatment at a Mohandessin clinic?
Yes. Bring any X-rays, scans or treatment notes you have. We will review what has been done, explain the options for continuing, and tell you honestly if finishing with your current dentist is the simpler route.
