From the Corniche to our clinic
Kornish El Maadi runs along Corniche El Nil on Maadi's western edge. From most buildings on the Corniche, our clinic is a short drive inland, typically about 5 to 15 minutes off-peak by car or ride-hailing app. The Corniche itself can be slow at rush hour and on weekend evenings when the riverside fills up, so peak traffic varies.
If you prefer public transport, Maadi station on Metro Line 1 is a short ride from the Corniche. The clinic's street address is not yet published, so we send step-by-step directions and a map pin on WhatsApp once you book. If you are bringing an elderly relative, tell us and we will suggest the easiest drop-off point.
What Corniche residents often come in for
Many of our Corniche patients are in their sixties and beyond. Typical concerns include an upper denture that feels bulky, a lower denture that will not stay put, several failing teeth, or worn-down teeth that make the face look older. These are prosthodontic problems at heart: they are about restoring chewing, comfort and appearance together.
Full-mouth options, honestly compared
For people who have lost most or all of their teeth, full-mouth implants, such as a fixed bridge on four to six implants, can feel close to natural teeth. They require adequate bone, good general health and a commitment to cleaning and regular reviews. Uncontrolled diabetes, heavy smoking and some bone-strengthening medications raise the risk of complications. Read All-on-4 vs All-on-6 for the differences.
A simpler, less invasive option is an implant-retained overdenture, where two or more implants hold a removable denture firmly. This is the focus of Prof. Nouran's published research, and for many older adults it offers a large improvement with less surgery and cost than a fixed bridge. A well-made conventional denture also remains a valid choice when implants are not advisable.
Saving the teeth you still have
Where teeth can be kept, crowns and bridges can protect worn or heavily filled teeth. We avoid crowning teeth that do not need it.
A tip for Corniche patients
Late-morning appointments usually avoid the Corniche's commuter peaks. Bring a list of your medications, especially blood thinners and osteoporosis treatments, as they affect how we plan any surgery.

Common questions
I'm in my seventies and live on the Maadi Corniche. Am I too old for implants?
Age alone is rarely the deciding factor. General health, medications, bone quantity and your ability to clean around implants matter more. Many older adults do well with two implants holding a lower denture. We review your medical history carefully and, where needed, coordinate with your physician before recommending any surgery.
Is parking difficult near the clinic if I drive from the Corniche?
Street parking in Maadi varies by time of day and can be limited near shops. Many Corniche patients find a ride-hailing car or a family drop-off simpler. When you book, tell us on WhatsApp if mobility is limited and we will suggest the most convenient drop-off point near the clinic.
What is the difference between a fixed full-mouth bridge and an overdenture?
A fixed bridge is screwed onto several implants and only the dentist removes it. An overdenture clips onto fewer implants and you take it out to clean. Fixed bridges feel more like natural teeth but need more implants and bone; overdentures are simpler, easier to clean and often suit older patients well.
