The journey from El Marg to Maadi
From El Marg or New El Marg station, board Metro Line 1 towards Helwan. Because you are at the start of the line, you can usually find a seat, and you stay on the same train through Ain Shams, central Cairo and Old Cairo until Maadi or Hadayek El Maadi. Expect around 55–70 minutes with no change of line.
By car, the usual route is to join the Ring Road and follow it south and around towards Maadi. Off-peak, that is typically about 45–60 minutes; rush hour on the Ring Road can add a great deal. We send exact clinic directions and a map pin on WhatsApp.
Being honest about when the trip is worth it
For a checkup, a cleaning or a simple filling, please see a dentist close to home in El Marg; it would make little sense to spend two hours travelling for that. Where the trip becomes worthwhile is when you need tooth-replacement planning that is hard to get right: a denture that has never fitted, several missing teeth, or a decision between implants and a denture.
- Complete and partial dentures — new dentures, relines and repairs, with an honest view of what is realistic; read getting used to new dentures.
- Implants to stabilise a denture — two or more implants for a loose lower denture, in suitable cases.
- Single implants or bridges — compared fairly for your situation.
Why a prosthodontist
Prof. Nouran Abdel Nabi is a Professor of Prosthodontics and Dental Implants at Cairo University, with published research on implant-retained overdentures in journals including the Egyptian Dental Journal. Her focus is replacing missing teeth in a way that works for eating, speaking and appearance, and she will explain the options in plain language.
Implants involve minor surgery, healing time and ongoing maintenance. They are riskier for smokers and people with uncontrolled diabetes, and some medications and health conditions rule them out. A carefully made conventional denture remains a sound choice for many patients. Our dentures page and dentures or implants after 50 article explain the trade-offs.
Tip: make the first visit count
Before travelling, message us on WhatsApp with a short description, any recent X-rays and your medication list. That helps us plan a first visit in which the examination and any imaging needed can happen together. Travel outside rush hour, bring your current denture, and allow time for discussion rather than rushing back.

Common questions
How long is the metro ride from El Marg to Maadi?
Usually around 55–70 minutes on Line 1, with no change of line. Because El Marg is at the start of the line, you can often get a seat. Travelling outside the morning and evening peaks is more comfortable. We send walking directions from Maadi station to the clinic on WhatsApp.
Is it worth travelling from El Marg for a new denture?
If your current denture has worked reasonably well, a local dentist may be perfectly adequate. If dentures have repeatedly been uncomfortable or loose, or you are considering implants, a specialist assessment can help identify why and plan the right solution. We will be honest about whether your case needs the trip.
How many visits does a new denture usually take?
A conventional denture usually needs several visits: impressions, bite records, a try-in, fitting and at least one adjustment afterwards. The exact number varies. For patients travelling from El Marg, we try to plan each visit efficiently, but steps like the try-in are important and should not be skipped.
