Why Dokki patients travel to Maadi for implant and denture planning
Dokki has no shortage of dental clinics, and for a routine checkup, a small filling or a cleaning, a dentist near Mesaha Square or Tahrir Street is usually the easier choice. We say that openly because a long trip for a simple visit rarely makes sense.
The calculation changes when the treatment is a long-term restoration: replacing several missing teeth, stabilising a loose lower denture, or planning a full arch. These are prosthodontic decisions, and they benefit from someone whose research focuses on them. Prof. Nouran Abdel Nabi is a Professor of Prosthodontics and Dental Implants at Cairo University with published work on implant-retained overdentures — dentures held in place by a small number of implants.
Getting from Dokki to our clinic in Maadi
By car
The most common route follows Corniche El Nil south through Giza, then crosses toward the east bank and continues along the Corniche into Maadi. Off-peak, this usually takes about 25–40 minutes. In rush hour, especially around Giza Square and the Corniche approaches, it can take considerably longer, so we suggest late-morning slots where possible.
By metro
Take Line 2 from Dokki station to Sadat, transfer to Line 1, and ride south toward the Maadi stations. It avoids traffic entirely and is predictable, which many patients prefer on the day of a longer procedure.
Because our exact street address is still being finalised on this site, we send directions and a live map pin on WhatsApp once your appointment is booked.
Fewer trips: how we group your visits
Most implant journeys involve several stages: examination and imaging, the surgical step, a healing period, then the final crown, bridge or denture. For patients coming from Dokki, we try to combine the consultation and imaging review in one visit, and to schedule follow-ups so that each trip covers more than one step when it is clinically safe.
Healing time cannot be shortened by scheduling, but the number of separate journeys often can.
Is an implant plan right for you?
Implants are not suitable for everyone. Uncontrolled diabetes, heavy smoking, some medications and limited bone can change the plan or rule implants out. In those cases a well-made conventional denture or a fixed bridge may be the more sensible option, and we will tell you so. You can read more in our guide on whether you are a candidate for dental implants.
If you already have a treatment plan from another clinic, you are welcome to bring it for a second opinion. Comparing options before committing is a reasonable step, not a sign of distrust. See our dental implants service page for what a typical plan includes.

Common questions
Is Prof. Nouran's clinic at Cairo University in Dokki?
No. Prof. Nouran is a Professor of Prosthodontics and Dental Implants at Cairo University, but her private clinical practice is at our clinic in Maadi. Patients from Dokki book directly with the Maadi clinic, and we send the directions and map pin on WhatsApp after booking.
Can I use the metro from Dokki on implant surgery day?
Yes, many patients do. Take Line 2 from Dokki to Sadat and change to Line 1 toward Maadi. After surgery you may feel tired or numb for a few hours, so if possible bring a companion for the return trip, or arrange a car home.
I only need a cleaning. Should I come from Dokki to Maadi?
Honestly, for a routine cleaning or checkup a trusted dentist close to home in Dokki is usually more practical. The trip is most worthwhile for implant, overdenture, full-arch or complex crown and bridge planning, where specialist prosthodontic input changes the outcome.
