# Dentures and Tooth-Saving Care for Ain Shams, One Metro Line Away

Ain Shams is close to the northern end of Metro Line 1, the same line that runs through Maadi. It is a long ride across the city, but it is a single seat with no changes, and because trains are less crowded near the start of the line, many Ain Shams patients find it a comfortable way to reach a specialist.

Getting to our clinic

Board Metro Line 1 at Ain Shams towards Helwan and stay on to Maadi (around 45–55 minutes), or drive via the Ring Road in about 35–50 minutes off-peak.

## Why patients from Ain Shams come to Prof. Nouran

### Fewer, well-planned visits

Your treatment is planned clearly from the first visit, so you know how many trips to expect. That saves time when you are travelling across Cairo.

### A specialist plans your case

Prof. Nouran is a Professor of Prosthodontics and Dental Implants at Cairo University. You get specialist planning without having to search for it.

### A written estimate before you start

You receive your plan and estimate in writing before any treatment. You can compare calmly and decide in your own time.

### Easy to reach, easy to ask

The clinic is in Golden Gate Tower on the Autostrad in Maadi. Message us on WhatsApp and we will send the location pin and the simplest route.

## Getting from Ain Shams to Maadi

Ain Shams station is on Metro Line 1. Board towards Helwan and stay on until Maadi or Hadayek El Maadi; the train passes through central Cairo along the way. The ride is usually around 45–55 minutes, with no change of line, and boarding near the northern end of the line often means you can find a seat.

By car, many drivers take Gesr El Suez Street to the Ring Road and follow it south towards Maadi; others prefer Salah Salem and the Autostrad. Off-peak, allow about 35–50 minutes, but traffic varies widely at rush hour. We send exact clinic directions and a map pin on WhatsApp.

## What Ain Shams residents come to us for

Most patients from Ain Shams come with practical, everyday problems that have become harder to live with: dentures that hurt or move, a tooth with recurring pain, or a family member who has avoided the dentist for years and needs a full assessment before deciding what to do.

- **Dentures that rub or move** — adjustment, reline or a new denture depending on its condition; read [loose denture: what to do](https://elnabidentalclinic.com/en/faq/loose-denture-what-to-do/).
- **Painful teeth that might be saved** — root canal treatment followed by a crown where the tooth is restorable.
- **Full assessment for anxious patients** — a calm first visit to understand the situation before any treatment.

## Why a prosthodontist is helpful even for "simple" dentures

A denture that hurts is usually not just bad luck: it often reflects an incorrect bite, an uneven base or changes in the gums since it was made. Prof. Nouran Abdel Nabi is a Professor of Prosthodontics and Dental Implants at Cairo University, whose published research focuses on dentures, including those held in place by implants. That experience helps identify why a denture is failing and whether adjusting it, relining it or remaking it is the right step.

Implant-retained dentures can help with a persistently loose lower denture, but they involve surgery and are not suitable for everyone, particularly where health conditions make surgery unwise or cleaning would be difficult. A well-made conventional denture is still a good solution for many people. Learn more on our [dentures page](https://elnabidentalclinic.com/en/services/dentures/) or read [what to expect at your first visit](https://elnabidentalclinic.com/en/faq/what-to-expect-at-your-first-visit/).

## Tip: travel outside rush hour and bring the denture

Choose an appointment outside the morning and evening metro peaks if you can, and bring your current denture even if it is broken. For routine checkups and cleaning, a dentist in Ain Shams is more convenient. The journey makes sense when you need denture or tooth-replacement planning.

## Common questions

Is the metro ride from Ain Shams too long?

It is a long ride, typically around 45–55 minutes, but there is no change of line and you can often find a seat when boarding at Ain Shams. Many patients find it less tiring than driving through traffic. Outside rush hour the journey is usually more comfortable; we send walking directions from Maadi station.

My denture hurts in one spot. Do I need a new one?

Not necessarily. A sore spot is often caused by a small area of the denture pressing on the gum, which can be adjusted. If the denture is old, worn or no longer fits after gum changes, a reline or new denture may be needed. Please do not file it yourself; bring it for an examination.

I have not seen a dentist in years and I am nervous. What happens first?

The first visit is about understanding your situation, not rushing into treatment. We examine your teeth and gums, take any X-rays needed, explain what we find in plain language and discuss options, including which problems are urgent and which can wait. You decide what happens next.
