Full-Mouth Implants and Dentures for Abbassia Residents

Abbassia is a crossroads: Ain Shams University students, the families around St Mark's Cathedral and long-established households on Ramses Street all meet here. Many older Abbassia residents reach the point where several teeth are failing at once, and that is when a full-arch plan from a prosthodontist in Maadi becomes worth the drive down Salah Salem.

Getting to our clinic

Drive south on Salah Salem Road past Al-Azhar Park and the Citadel, then take the Autostrad into Maadi (about 25–35 minutes off-peak), or ride Line 3 to Nasser and change to Line 1.

Travelling from Abbassia to Maadi

By car, the familiar route is Salah Salem Road heading south-east from Abbassia, past Al-Azhar Park and below the Citadel, then onto the Autostrad, which runs straight into Maadi. Off-peak, that is usually about 25–35 minutes. Salah Salem can be slow in the morning and late afternoon, so allow extra time.

By metro, take Line 3 from Abbassia station towards Attaba and change at Nasser to Line 1 heading towards Helwan; get off at Maadi. We send exact clinic directions and a map pin on WhatsApp when you book.

When several teeth are failing at once

A frequent situation among our Abbassia patients is a mouth with a mix of old bridges, loose teeth and a partial denture that no longer fits. Patching each tooth separately becomes expensive and unpredictable. At that point it makes sense to step back and plan the whole arch.

  • Full-mouth (full-arch) implant bridges — fixed teeth on four or more implants per jaw, in suitable cases; compare all-on-4 vs all-on-6.
  • Implant-retained overdentures — a removable denture that clips onto two to four implants, often a more affordable and easier-to-clean option.
  • Well-made conventional dentures — still the right answer for some patients, particularly where surgery is not advisable.

Why this is a prosthodontist's decision

Full-arch treatment is planned from the teeth backwards: where the new teeth should sit, how the lips are supported, how the bite meets, and only then where the implants go. Prof. Nouran Abdel Nabi is a Professor of Prosthodontics and Dental Implants at Cairo University with published research on implant-retained overdentures, which gives her a practical view of when a fixed bridge is worth it and when an overdenture serves the patient better.

Full-arch implant treatment is a major undertaking with surgical risks, a healing period and ongoing maintenance. It is less suitable for heavy smokers, people with uncontrolled diabetes, those on certain bone medications, or anyone who cannot attend regular reviews. Our full-mouth implants page explains the steps and the alternatives.

Tip: combine the consultation and scan

For full-arch planning, a 3D scan (CBCT) is usually needed. If you mention on WhatsApp that you are considering full-mouth treatment, we can try to arrange the examination and the scan on the same visit, saving a second trip across the city. For routine checkups, a dentist in Abbassia may be more convenient; this kind of planning is where the trip pays off.

Common questions

Is Salah Salem or the metro better from Abbassia?

It depends on the time of day. Off-peak, driving via Salah Salem and the Autostrad is usually about 25–35 minutes. At rush hour, Line 3 to Nasser and Line 1 south to Maadi can be more predictable, despite the change. We send exact directions on WhatsApp so you can choose.

Do I need fixed full-mouth implants, or is an overdenture enough?

Both can work well. Fixed bridges feel closer to natural teeth but need more implants, more bone and more cost. Overdentures use fewer implants, are removed for cleaning and are often easier for older patients. We compare them against your bone, health, budget and preferences before recommending one.

Can a full set of implant teeth be fitted on the same day?

In some cases a temporary fixed bridge can be attached shortly after implant surgery, if the implants are stable enough. It is not suitable for everyone, and the final bridge is made after healing. We explain whether immediate loading is realistic for you after the examination and scan.
